Ordering tickets stresses me out

This has absolutely nothing to do with this musical, other than the fact that I was buying tickets for a musical I've been fan girling for...years. But I'm going to take out my stress on here anyway.

So, my roommate Kathleen...my friend Tracy...and I are all going to take a spring break trip together. Woohoo! And the plan has been since, oh, about June that we're going to swing by Appleton, WI first to see the tour of Wicked and then spend several days in Chicago. Fantastic. Great plan. We're psyched. It'll be my third time seeing the show, Kathleen's second, and Tracy's first (awww). We put hotels on reservation a couple weeks ago and then we're all like "time to order tickets for Wicked!"

This sounds easier than it was. Tickets went on sale today...7am central time at the Wisconsin box office (oh, too bad I live in Ohio)...10am central time online. Great. So I get up at 10am my time to check that Ticketmaster hasn't made a glitch and opened the orders early. No such luck. At exactly 11am our time, Kathleen and I are sitting in our apartment, both with our laptops (mine on Ticketmaster, hers on the seating chart) and we start trying to find tickets.

We first search for three tickets, best available seating, 7:30 pm on Feb. 28...

"We're sorry, there are no tickets that match your search."

Okay...three tickets, best available seating, 2pm on Feb. 28...

"We're sorry, there are no tickets that match your search."

We try this series about 50 million more times before we search for three tickets, best available seating, 7:30pm Feb. 27....

We get some seats, but that means we'll have to drive instead of taking the bus. And our indecisiveness came into play here, because we couldn't decide if it was worth it. And by the time we decided it was...

"You have run out of the allotted time and these tickets have been re-released."

*groan*

Long story short...we ended up having to order one set of 2 tickets and then one single ticket. Not the best scenario, because we'll be on opposite ends of the theatre from each other (even though we're in the same section) and we ended up in the Grand Tier (not our first choice). We keep justifying this to ourselves to make us feel better that it didn't work out the way we wanted.

"Well, at least we'll all be seeing Wicked at the same show."

Yeah, that would have been a good idea, except the box office wasn't taking phone calls this morning because of the rush they were expecting for the Wicked tickets.
